Officially The Ground Zero
Tasked with re-designing an old resort with stalled construction and create a new architecture that blends in its village environment, SAS visualizes The Bale Phnom Penh as a resort that combines the elements of surprises and smart execution to overcome constraints of poor material availability and the lacking of specialist workmen.
The resort sits on the Mekong River, at the outskirt of the capital city. Featuring just 18 suites with backyards, the property is all about quality service and luxurious living, with a large pool area to watch the stunning Mekong sunsets.
Once inside, sculptures and murals by young local artists grace the resulting streamlined architecture that successfully stay humble in its surrounding.
